After the monetary policy meeting, it was resolved to raise the policy interest rate incrementally, starting from 0% and notching it up to 0.1%, with an aim to reach about 0.25%. This change represents the first rise in interest rates. Furthermore, the meeting detailed a plan to taper the current monthly monetary input from roughly 6 trillion yen to about 3 trillion yen by the period spanning January to March 2026.
